This afternoon it became official: 6'3" 301-pound 4-Star Defensive Tackle Tommy Schutt (Glen Ellyn, Illinois) switched his commitment from Penn State University over to The Ohio State University just one day after making his official visit to meet with Urban Meyer, as well as a number of other recruits, in Columbus.
"Yeah it is official," Schutt told Rivals.com on Monday evening. "I decommitted from Penn State and gave my verbal commitment to Ohio State. I had a great visit this weekend to Ohio State and got to know the coaches and the players better," Schutt said. "I spent a lot of time talking to Urban Meyer. I am really glad I made the official visit. I am excited under the circumstances and I am excited things worked out and I am happy to be a Buckeye."
Schutt marks the first to flip plans to the Buckeyes after committing to another school. Meyer has others on his radar, so hopefully this is the first of many.
